Guidelines for Guest Posting

At IHC, we see the value of having guest post contributors. Whether you are a freelance writer or a company that has authority on the subject, we understand the importance of giving our readers various perspectives to help them gain more knowledge on the subject.

Our content is aimed at helping readers make informed decisions when it comes to choosing the best type of care for their loved ones. We support readers and their family members in choosing the best care possible and are dedicated to providing resources that will make their transition smoother.

While our primary focus is helping readers find the best-quality in-home caregivers, we also write on a variety of topics to help them in day-to-day living, including:

  • Financial needs and assistance
  • Memory loss
  • Non-medical home care
  • Medical issues for the elderly population
  • Hygiene
  • Emotional support
  • Exercise and diet

If you would like to contribute to our site with a guest post, please review the guidelines detailed below.

Show Your Social Influence

Give our sight some love on your social networks. This could be as simple as liking, commenting, or resharing one of our posts on any of your social media networks (Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc).

Tell Us Who You Are

Submit a short bio (200 words or less) telling us who you are and why we should feature your content on our site. Include your Linkedin profile so readers can connect and learn more about you and your work. Add any other social media accounts or personal/company websites where readers can engage and find out more information.

The Blog Post

Here are some rules when writing your blog post:

  • Length: blog post should be anywhere from 1,000 to 2,500 words.
  • References and Linking: include relevant external links (this can be to your own site, but please refrain from turning it into a promotion) and internal links to previously published IHC content. External links should be from credible sources (not Wikipedia) and not from competing websites. Link directly to the source when quoting someone a study. And please include a list of reference articles used at the end of your article.
  • SEO and Ranking: help our site maintain SEO rankings by using proper formatting (titles, headers, bolding, bulleted lists, etc.). While not all of this is relevant to your individual article, we recommend reviewing Neil Patel’s How to Perform an SEO Audit- Free $5000 Template Included, to help you optimize your article.
  • Images: if including images, make sure they are licensed and include Alt tags. We will include our own images if none are provided or we prefer our own.
  • Formatting: please use standard writing practices including writing numbers 1-10 in long-form, and using numbers for 11 upward. Follow the Oxford comma rules.

Publishing Process

Please submit article ideas and personal information below. Once submitted, we will reach out to you with what topic we have approved. Once the article is submitted, our editing staff will review grammar, flow, and links. The editor is free to make changes as necessary to comply with our publishing process. If there are any edit requests, they will contact you to make the necessary changes. The sooner you respond to the changes, the sooner your post will be published. Please allow 2-3 weeks for this process. Once published, we encourage you to share the post on your social media accounts and respond to any comments made by readers.
