“Care for Your Future” Scholarship

Inhomecare.com Program Background

Inhomecare.com’s scholarship program is a unique offering for students currently enrolled in any 2 or 4 year undergraduate program.

Access to caregiving is a growing concern as an increase in demand and clear need, continues to present a challenge to the industry. That is why we’re committed to helping students who are seeking an education in methods that lead to more effective care for seniors.

The Care for Your Future scholarship is funded by Inhomecare.com and is supported by our advisors and partners across the industry.

 

Scholarship Application and Guidelines

Students are encouraged to apply by submitting their application on this page or sending their submission via email to [email protected] starting on July 1, 2019 at 8 a.m. PST. For Spring 2020, the scholarship will close on Dec 31, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. PST and will be awarded by January 10, 2020.

Applicants should complete all parts of the online application to qualify for consideration. If submitting via email, applicants must include all of the following information:

  • His or her first and last name
  • Valid email address
  • Permanent mailing address
  • Date of birth
  • Institution to be attended Spring 2020
  • Area of study
  • Anticipated college graduation date (month/year)
  • 500-1000 word essay in response to the prompt below
  • A series of documentation will be requested via email or phone from the finalists to verify eligibility.

Awards will be given based on the following criteria:

The essay should fully answer these prompts:
One paragraph on “How would this scholarship be beneficial for you in your current or future role as a caregiver?” (100-300 words) and then select one of the following three topics to answer in full (800-1,000+ words)

  1. How does in-home care benefit the quality of life of seniors?
  2. How has in-home care for a relative or loved one impacted them and you?
  3. What are some of the biggest health care challenges facing seniors in the United States now and into the near future?

The final submission should total 1000+ words.

A panel of judges will review the applications. Essays will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Applicants must follow the essay prompt
  • Submissions must be 500 – 1000 words
  • Submissions should clearly relate their education to caregiving

Winners will each receive a one-time scholarship check of $1000 to be used for future educational expenses.

Official Rules

No purchase necessary. We will keep your information private. It will not be sold or shared with any third parties. The Care for Your Future Scholarship is open to any citizen and/or resident of the United States (and its territories and possessions) who will be enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning full-time for Spring Semester 2020. All other entries will be disqualified. Each student may only submit one entry. If it is determined that a participant has entered with more than one identity, all of the participant’s submissions will be disqualified. Application period starts on July 1, 2019 at 8 a.m. PST.

Winners will be notified via email, and scholarship money will be awarded no later than January 10, 2020. All portions of the application must be answered, attaching all requested documents. Failure to fully answer the essay question or provide all documentation could deem an application ineligible. Once submitted, NO confirmation email will be sent to the applicant. Any requests from applicants asking for verification of submission will not be granted. Subsequently, no direct notification will be sent to the applicants who were not chosen as a winner of the scholarship.

All entries must be received no later than Dec 31, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. PST to be eligible for the contest. Prizes are non-transferable. Competition is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Winners will be solely responsible for any federal, state or local taxes. Winners and their parents/legal guardians will be required to execute an affidavit of originality, eligibility and compliance with rules, a release of liability and grant of publication rights within 10 days of the date specified in the notification. Failure to do so will result in the prize being awarded to the finalist with the next highest votes. Winners must provide a valid street address to which Inhomecare.com can mail the winners their scholarship check, a publicity release, an affidavit of eligibility and complete a W-9 for tax purposes in order to qualify for receipt of the scholarship award in the amount of $1000.

**All essays and all rights to their publication become the property of Inhomecare.com, which may use, edit and excerpt these entries for purposes promotional or otherwise, including placing them online without compensation, additional or otherwise. Inhomecare.com reserves the right to use prizewinners’ names and hometowns in any advertising or promotional materials relating to this competition without further notification, permission, or compensation to the winners, except where prohibited by law.
